1) Ben Anderson, Director of Health Policy at the Children's Defense Fund will assess the importance of Congressional passage of the American Rescue Plan Act, and the provisions which expand the Child Tax Credit, that will benefit 23 million of the nation's children and their families living in poverty.

 

2) Chuck Collins, Director the Program on Inequality and the Common Good at the Institute for Policy Studies, where he co-edits inequalty.org, is author of the new book, "The Wealth Hoarders: How Billionaires Pay Millions to Hide Trillions." He'll discuss Elizabeth Warren's proposed wealth tax, the future of a federal $15 minimum wage, and other federal policies that can effectively address rising economic inequality.

 

3) Tim Judson, Executive Director of the Nuclear Information and Resource Service, will examine the current status of the Fukushima nuclear disaster on the 10th anniversary of the catastrophic earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan on March 11th, 2011.

 

4) Dr. Jason Chang, University of Connecticut Associate Professor of History and Asian/Asian American Studies; Director of UConn's Asian and Asian American Studies Institute, who also serves on West Hartford's board of education, and Kate Lee, a Middle school teacher in Fairfield County and a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion consultant for nonprofit organizations.They'll talk about the current campaign for the inclusion of Asian-American and Pacific Islander Studies in Connecticut's education curriculum, embodied in legislative bill SB 678.
