Episode: Connections: Bob Dylan 75th Birthday Special with Eric Cocks and Chris Frantz

May 24, 2016: WPKN Special with Eric Cocks and Chris Frantz celebrating Bob Dylan's 75th Birthday!

Includes new Bob Dylan music, extra rare songs from Bob, along with alternate versions and vintage classics.

Also Dylan covers from Tom Tom Club, Wendy James, The Byrds, Raphael Saadiq, The Wonder Who, Bryan Ferry (with Brian Eno and Andy Newmark), Harry Nilsson (produced by John Lennon), The Staples Singers, Esther Phillips, The Turtles and more.

Plus Traveling Wilburys, rare duets by Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash, a Dylan influenced song by Minutemen.

And… several great personal stories from Chris Frantz on meeting Bob Dylan, a phone call from Talking Heads percussionist Steve Scales (who also played with Bob Dylan), plenty of laughs throughout and whatever happened in the moment.

It was also a low key fundraiser for WPKN.

Great thanks to everybody who tuned in!

Extra thanks to my good friend Chris Frantz for joining me, to my friends Justin Shay and Pete Stewart for joining in on air, and everyone helping out on the phones!

Additional thanks to all who donated to the station! (It's still possible to donate online at wpkn.org

Special additional extra thanks to Bob Dylan for creating and performing such extraordinary music, influencing so many people in so many different ways and for being exactly who he is!
