So! Next! A story of how I came to understand the phenomenon of “Twitch” a bit more! I caught a 6 minute ambient improv by New Haven composer Istvan B’racz on Instagram….I asked if he could send me an MP3 to play on my show this week…
This came out of a FOUR hour continuous stream for the Dark Experimental Ambient Drone raid train. So it’s part of
Twitch, a platform that started out for gaming, you know, like watching live gaming….but now musicians and artists are using it, especially during the pandemic. And it’s apparently HUGE They are video streams and there is audience interaction GLOBALLY…I guess after your performance (which Istvan does at least once week, the train continues with another performer.

If you get a chance to view the live performance video for FALL, you won’t regret it….that pre-performance “warm-up” is amazing…they are hugging and pounding each other’s backs…the camera wanders across enrapt faces, some couples kissing, people weeping….a level of entrancement so unique…..
Now listen, stay with me if you can…..because we are moving into another Master of Melancholy – it’s Sufjan Stevens, with So you are Tired from the upcoming album Javelin (expected Oct 6)….if I could write a song this moving, I would lie down atop a body of water and float happily……
