Episode: 02.03.20: Counterpoint host Scott Harris discusses the Senate sham impeachment trial of Donald Trump; Trump regime Middle East peace plan dead on arrival; House repeals AUMF, funds for unauthorized Iran war & Initiative to address CT's housing crisis

Counterpoint, hosted by Scott Harris, is heard every Monday night on WPKN 89.5 FM, Bridgeport, CT between 8:00 - 10:00 pm ET. Webstreaming and audio archive at http://wpkn.org

1) Marge Baker, Executive Vice President for Policy and Program with People for the American Way, assesses the conduct of the Senate Impeachment trial, Donald Trump's expected acquittal and his defense team's astonishing assertion that the president has unlimited, unchecked power -- even to abuse his/her office in pursuit of re-election.

2) Sonya Meyerson-Knox, Media Program Manager with Jewish Voice For Peace examines the Trump administration's recent announcement of their Israeli-Palestinian "peace plan," that has been rejected by the Palestinians and much of the world. She'll discuss alternative ways forward to achieving a just peace.

3) Erica Fein, Advocacy Director of the group Win Without War, discusses the recent House of Representatives vote to repeal the 2002 Iraq Authorization for Use of Military Force and a bill to block the use of funds for an unauthorized war with Iran. She'll also talk about the expected debate in the Senate on a War Powers Resolution -- and President Trump's threat to veto these bills if they should reach his desk.

4) Kiley Gosselin, Executive Director with the Partnership for Strong Communities talks about progress being made on the "Right to Housing" agenda in the Connecticut legislature -- as well as the issues of homelessness, the state's shortage of affordable housing, and de-facto economic segregation.
