Episode: Del 'in Transition' : On the phone with Rolling Thunder Bass Player/Musical Director Rob Stoner

Fundraising or not, we got to get to when we get to it.

Rob Stoner was the orchestrater and music director for Bob Dylan's Rolling Thunder Revue, working straight thru to the Live at Budokhan Tour.

He was the guy with the thump on Blood on the Tracks and Desire among others, but most of all rehearsin'  the band, calling the time, the key, and keeping everybody on point, on one of the greatest tours in Rock History, with the circus participants being Scarlet Rivera on Fiddle, TBone Burnett, Mick Ronson, Roger McGuinn, Howie Wyeth on drums, and casts of temps like Joni Mitchell i.e..and leave us ever forget Joan Baez who had such a huge part in Bob's life at that time and contributed quite a lot to the content of this film....and her vocals..amazing. and if you notice the Ronnie Hawkin's cameo, and look at the way Bob was singing, he's sing a line, then snarl at the camera, just like Ronnie did during the Last Waltz.....

There's some backstories I did not know about. Rob now is the musical director for Rockabilly Singer Robert Gordon, who will be headlining the final show at Irving Plaza run in NYC on Mon 7/1/19, before the Live Nation renovations begin...
