Episode: 10-01-18: Counterpoint host Scott Harris discusses what Brett Kavanaugh learned in high school about privilege; protesters who descended on Washington to oppose Kavanaugh nomination; Trump at the UN General Assembly & Ripple Effect Artists theater NYC

Counterpoint, hosted by Scott Harris, is heard every Monday night on WPKN 89.5 FM, Bridgeport, CT between 8:00 - 10:00 pm ET. Webstreaming and audio archive at http://wpkn.org

1) Independent journalist JoAnn Wypijewski, co-editor of the book, "Killing Trayvons: An Anthology of American Violence," talks about her recent Counterpunch article, "What Brett Kavanaugh Really Learned in High School: Make the Rules, Break the Rules and Prosper."

2) Kara Voght, a reporter with Mother Jones' magazine's DC bureau, discusses her recent article, "Voices of Anguish and Hope from the Supreme Court Protests Today," with a focus on social justice movements' organized opposition to President Trump's Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

3) Dorothy Parvaz, Global Politics Reporter with ThinkProgress.org talks about her recent article, "The UN General Assembly is not Going so Well for President Trump," and Trump's rejection of "Globalism," i.e., the UN's multilateral approach to addressing global crises -- favoring instead his own brand of "patriotism."

4) Longtime writer, editor and WPKN producer Ina Chadwick, talks about Ripple Effect Artists, Inc. (REA), where she serves as a board member, "which addresses injustice and causes social impact through art - primarily by producing masterful plays - presenting them along with talk-back discussions in partnership with educators and advocacy groups."
