Episode: 03.25.24: Counterpoint host Scott Harris discusses Passage of UN Gaza ceasefire resolution; Assessing Biden's domestic policy agenda; Rightwing extremist network financed Moms For Liberty; CT legislation proposes expanding paid sick leave law

Counterpoint, hosted by Scott Harris, is heard every Monday night on WPKN 89.5 FM, Bridgeport, CT between 8:00 – 9:30 pm ET. Webstreaming and audio archive at http://wpkn.org

1) Josh Ruebner, Adjunct Lecturer in the Justice and Peace Program at Georgetown University, discusses the ongoing carnage in Gaza, the US cut-off of funds to UNRWA, the Biden administration's lack of action to invoke a ceasefire -- and GOP House Speaker Mike Johnson's plan to invite Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to address Congress.

2) Karen Dolan, Project Director of Criminalization of Race and Poverty at the Institute for Policy Studies, discusses President Biden's domestic agenda as the 2024 presidential election goes into full swing, and issues covered in her recent "Hill" article, "Biden’s populist budget marks the overdue end of trickle-down economics."

3) Maurice T. Cunningham, author of "Dark Money and the Politics of School Privatization," discusses his views of the extremist group Moms for Liberty, their origin and place in the larger U.S. right wing movement, the group's current agenda censoring school curriculum, banning books, and corporate media coverage of their activities.

4) Roger Senserrich, Communications Director with the Working Families Party of Connecticut, talks about his group's door-knocking and phone banking campaign in support of legislation to expand and strengthen Connecticut's paid sick leave law to ensure that more workers have the ability to take time-off from work when they are sick or need to care for a sick family member.
