1) Rick Perlstein is a journalist, and historian of the post-1960s American conservative movement whose New York Times best selling books include, "The Invisible Bridge: The Fall of Nixon and the Rise of Reagan;" Nixonland: The Rise of a President and the Fracturing of America;" and "Before the Storm: Barry Goldwater and the Unmaking of the American Consensus." Perlstein, a contributing editor and board member of In These Times magazine, examines U.S. corporate media's coverage of the 2024 presidential election campaign, with a focus on the false equivalence and both-sides-ism that permeates reporting on the Trump-GOP threat to the nation's democratic institutions.

2) Abby Maxman, Oxfam America's President & CEO and Dr. Karameh Hawash-Kuemmerle of Boston Children's Hospital Department of Neurology, Assistant Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School -- and a member of Doctors Against Genocide, discuss the worsening humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, and the growing international call on President Biden to urgently act to stop the bloodshed and do more to save Palestinian lives and prevent famine in Gaza.

3) Lara Witt, editorial Director of Prism, a community of journalists committed to delivering in-depth and thought-provoking news and analysis, discusses the work being done at Media Against Apartheid & Displacement, covered in a recent article she co-wrote with Maya Schenwar of Truthout.org, titled, "Media Organizations Come Together to Uplift Journalism for a Free Palestine."

4) Cheri Quickmire, executive director of the Connecticut chapter of Common Cause, discusses her group's effort to pass RB 5408, legislation to reverse the decline in Connecticut media, and support local press outlets through reallocating state advertising revenue, as a means to strengthen reporting on local and state-wide issues vital to a functioning democracy.
