1) Ralph Nader, named by The Atlantic as one of the hundred most influential figures in American history, is a four-time independent presidential candidate and author. Here he talks about the war in Israel and Gaza, and the 13,000 Palestinian civilians killed by Israel in Gaza after the October 7th Hamas terrorist attack that killed 1,200 Israelis and kidnapped 240 others brought to Gaza as hostages.
2) Mel Gurtov, Professor Emeritus of Political Science, at Portland State University and author of, “Engaging China: Rebuilding Sino-American Relations,” discusses the Nov. 15th meeting between President Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping. He'll talk about the main issues that were reported to have been discussed, including the restoration of military communications between the two nations, combating the flow of fentanyl from China to the U.S., and contentious issues relating to the future status of Taiwan.
3) James Bamford, bestselling author, Emmy-nominated filmmaker for PBS, award-winning investigative producer for ABC News, discusses the important issues examined in his recent Nation magazine article, "Israel’s War on American Student Activists." amid the current violence in Israel and Gaza, and the rise of both antisemitism and Islamophobia on college campuses.
4) Rev. Dr Davida Foy Crabtree, retired minister of the United Church of Christ, who has held a variety of church positions in both Connecticut and California. She talks about her work launching the CT chapter of the national group Third Act, where she serves as co-facilitator. Third Act, founded by climate activist and author Bill McKibben in 2021, is building a community of Americans over the age of sixty determined to change the world for the better, and use their life experience, skills and resources to build a better tomorrow.
