This show only touched a portion of the women who are part of the CT INDIE music scene ...if someone you know is not on this playlist ... even in four hours I could not play everything ...please send in your suggestions ... I can always fit in CT indie original music on a future edition of CT ROCKS ... and, who knows, maybe another CT Women in Music special will happen soon.

44. Daphne Glover / Roadside Attractions

45. Brazen Hussey

Sara Florek - Brazen Hussy - Sara writes quick pop-punk ditties about fashion, social angst, and the rock& roll lifestyle. They are infectiously good, and leave you with the same kind of powergirl vibe as the Yeah Yeah Yeahs or Sleater Kinney. She also draws from some Americana influences and covers a Carter Family number, Chewing Gum. My favorite Brazen Hussy cuts are Dark Corners and About You. www.myspace.com/brazenhussyband

46. Michelle Montavon - Suicide Dolls

Michelle plays Bass and sings with this power trio. It's sonic and edgy and experimental. My favorite cut is Pretty Lie from the FIFTIG comp

47. Gretchen Gould
http://www.myspace.com/sisterseven7

48. If Not For Dreaming

49. Liz Larson of The Liz Larsons and Dan & Liz

The Liz Larsons, Dan & Liz, Brazen Hussy - Liz is a wonderful songwriter/front woman for two bands and the guitar player for Brazen Hussy. She's got a strong background in Old Time music and plays fiddle with Dan & Liz, as well as her own quirky version of rock & roll. My favorite songs are Bleakini Song & Beekeeper (LLs), and Ask for Susan or Jim (D&L), which is a tongue-in-cheek anthem about Eminent Domain and the role of artists in revitalizating the city. It's very NL specific, but a great folk song. www.myspace.com/danandliz or /thelizlarsons

50. Annemarie Newport - Estrogen & Tonic

- This rotating cast has featured leads Joey Royale and Paul Brockett, but Annemarie has finally taken the reins from behind the drumkit to lead a New London staple band. It's catchy but it always keeps you guessing. My favorite cut is Double Muscle from the Powers comp, but they have tons of good songs. www.myspace.com/estrogenandtonic
