Episode: 09.09.19: Counterpoint host Scott Harris discusses Code Pink's effort to end US complicity in Yemen War; Overturning North Carolina's GOP gerrymandered districts; Trapped in the US Terrorist Watch List & Resisting massive voter purges in Ohio & Georgia

Counterpoint, hosted by Scott Harris, is heard every Monday night on WPKN 89.5 FM, Bridgeport, CT between 8:00 - 10:00 pm ET. Webstreaming and audio archive at http://wpkn.org

1) Ariel Gold National Co-Director of Code Pink Women for Peace talks about her group's campaign to pressure Senate Democrats to amend the NDAA to end U.S. involvement in the war in Yemen, and prevent a war with Iran... and other issues Code Pink is working on related to the military budget and the defunding of domestic programs.

2) Steven Rosenfeld, editor, chief correspondent and senior writing fellow with Voting Booth, a project of the Independent Media Institute, discusses the recent ruling from three North Carolina judges who struck down the state's partisan gerrymandered districts as violating North Carolina's constitution, ordering the state legislature to redraw maps for state legislative districts. He'll also talk about the Democratic National Committee's decision to reverse course on offering a “virtual voting” option for the party’s 2020 Iowa and Nevada presidential caucuses.

3) Dave Lindorff investigative journalist, author of four books and founder of the collectively run journalism news and opinion website, ThisCan'tBe Happening.net, talks about his Aug. 22nd Nation magazine article, "Are Terrorism Watch Lists Expanding Under Trump," and the recent Federal Court judge in Alexandria Virginia who ruled that the U.S. government terrorism watch list is unconstitutional.

4) Greg Palast, known for his investigative reports for the Guardian, BBC television and Rolling Stone, has written four New York Times bestsellers, including The Best Democracy Money Can Buy, now a feature documentary available on Amazon Prime. He'll discuss his current investigation into Ohio's decision to cancel hundreds of thousands of voter registrations, even though the list of voters the state is using was plagued by many errors.
